Rieseberg, Harry E.
Category: Sunken Treasure
Size: 6″ x 8.5″
Editions: The first edition (stated) was published by Robert M. McBride & Co., New York City (1942), in hardback with a dust jacket. There were seven subsequent printings by McBride between 1942 and 1948. The National Travel Club, New York City, also published this book in 1942, in hardback with a dust jacket. Interestingly, the National Travel Club edition also states “First Edition”…the only explanation I can think of is that the National Travel Club must have used the same plates as the McBride first edition, changing only the publisher name. Dodd, Mead & Company, New York City, published many printings of this book beginning in 1951, in hardback with a dust jacket. A Book Club Edition (stated) was published by Frederick Fell, Inc., New York City (1970), in hardback with a dust jacket (dust jacket says “New – Revised – Up To Date” across the top and is red). A paperback edition (Armed Services Edition) was published by Editions for the Armed Services, Inc., New York City (1942). Popular Library, New York City, also published a paperback edition in 1953, with a subsequent printing in 1954.
Description: This book is the story of the author’s exploits in searching for sunken treasure in the 1930’s and 1940’s…I suspect in many cases greatly exaggerated. One of the “Top 75 Books”.
