Editions: The first edition (stated) was published by Collins Clear-Type Press, UK (1941) in hardback. The copies I’ve seen don’t have a dust jacket, but there may have been one. There were at least 6 impressions of the book, all stated.
Description: This book is about both buried and sunken treasures, contrary to its title. There are chapters about the Spanish Armada shipwreck, “Florencia”; William Phips and his salvage of the “Concepcion”; the South African wreck, “Grosvenor”; the French wreck, “Telemaque”; and the “General Grant”, which sank in the Auckland Islands (south of New Zealand).
