This pamphlet describes the history of the “HMS Colossus” and the excavations in 2004 and 2005 by the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Maritime Archaeology Society.  “HMS Colossus” was one of Admiral Nelson’s ships returning from the Battle of the Nile when it sank in 1798 off the Isles of Scilly.  The ship contained a portion of Sir William Hamilton’s valuable Greek ceramics collection.
