Description:
This extraordinary book discusses the excavation of the “Vung Tau” wreck, which was lost off the coast of Viet Nam during the late 17th century.  Additionally, the construction of the ship and the Dutch-China trade during the 17th century are examined.  However, most of the book describes the diverse cargo of 48,288 porcelain pieces that were salvaged (underglaze blue Jingdezhen wares and Southern provincial wares) with many of the ceramics illustrated.
