Editions: The first edition (not stated) was published in Spanish under the title, “El San Diego. Un Tesoro Bajo el Mar”, by Cooperación Española, Madrid (1995). The first English language edition (not stated) was published by the National Museum of the Philippines, Manila (in conjunction with Foundation ELF) in 1996, in paperback.  A French edition was published by AFAA, RMN, Paris (1994) under the title, “Le San Diego”.  A German edition was published by Staatliche Museen zu Berlin – Prebishcher Kulturbesitz, Berlin (1997) under the title, “Die Schatze der San Diego”.
Description: This exhibition catalog is extraordinary. It is very well illustrated, comprehensive in scope, provides the historical background and the salvage details. The Spanish ship, “San Diego”, sank off the Philippines in 1600 and was discovered in 1991 by Frank Goddio (one of the editors). The exhibition was held at the Philippine Consulate in New York City from November 1, 1996 to – February 28, 1997 (and previously in Madrid and Paris).
